At Positively People, we’re honored to spotlight family enterprises who embody resilience, legacy, and the commitment to leaving it better for future generations.
About the Family & Business
Founded in 1986 by Warren Tabor, Fabricated Steel Products (FSP) in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, has grown into a premier steel fabricator serving industries across the U.S. and worldwide—from oil and gas to defense. After Warren, his son Kevin stepped in to lead, and today the third generation—Allison, Blake, and Colby—carries the family enterprise forward.
The Challenge
Like many multi-generation family businesses, the Tabors faced the complex task of transitioning to the third generation while managing family dynamics both inside and outside of the company. Questions around succession, unclear roles, and personal conflicts spilling into work threatened the cohesion of both their family and their business.
How Positively People Helped
Our team partnered with the Tabor family to navigate this critical chapter. Together, we:
-
Clarified the family’s shared vision and values
-
Established a strong governance structure
-
Defined clear roles and decision-making frameworks for the next generation
-
Co-created a code of conduct and communication agreements to strengthen trust and accountability
By aligning on purpose and creating tools for healthier communication, the Tabors were able to work more effectively as colleagues while deepening their relationships as family.
The Result
Today, Fabricated Steel Products is operating with greater cohesion, accountability, and long-term alignment. With strengthened governance and shared clarity, the family is preserving its legacy while confidently stepping into its next phase of growth.
