Mindfulness, Meditation 

Mindfulness, meditation increase mental clarity and can allow us to acknowledge thoughts and feelings with ease, while gaining the benefits of stress relief and enhanced physical and mental flexibility.  

Mindfulness is about acceptance – paying attention to our thoughts and feelings without judging them. We avoid believing there is a “right” or “wrong” way to think or feel in a given moment. According to Jon Kabat-Zinn, mindfulness is “maintaining a moment-by-moment awareness of our thoughts, feelings, bodily sensations, and surrounding environment, through a gentle, nurturing lens.”

Meditation is the intentional act of focusing one’s awareness on the present, while calmly acknowledging and accepting one’s feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations. Fans of meditation find their work lives improved by this focus on “the now.”
