College of Charleston Executive Certificate Family Business Program

Our CEO/Founder worked with the College of Charleston School of Business Graduate Programs to develop a comprehensive executive certificate for family enterprises. 

This models a holistic and inclusive approach to Family Enterprise Planning (FEP). Through courses in family dynamics, family business strategy and family governance, participants experience three critical systems for enduring family enterprise success. The program offers a unique opportunity to network with experts and peers who understand the challenges inherent to a family enterprise.

Family businesses come in all sizes, and we are committed to providing opportunities for local and regional families to gather, learn, and share insights. Family Firm Institute 

FFI engages in educating, connecting, and inspiring professionals who serve family enterprises. As a FFI Fellow and FFI GEN Faculty member for their practitioner certification program, Jean Meeks-Koch has spoken extensively internationally and domestically at FFI conferences and workshops. Workshops

Diversity and Inclusion: Today’s workplace is a multi-cultural, dynamic community of people representing five generations. Our workshops focus on the distinct issues your organization faces within its own mix.

Team BuildingUsing the Five Behaviors of a Cohesive Team™ as a foundation, we uniquely build a workshop that focuses on the specific needs of the group based on evidence-based, validated data.

Sales: Workshop participants learn the six essential steps to sales success, how to find prospects and how to convert stress into productive energy and improved sales performance. 

Leadership Development: Participants self-assess sources of their personal power and motivations, and their skill at influencing others. Exercises explore communication and influence, with a novel focus on personal power vs. authoritative behaviors. 

Customer Service/Communication Strategies: Customers are central to successful businesses. This session identifies types of customers, how they wish to be served, and how to improve ourselves along the way. Participants gain skills in in-person and phone techniques, dealing with difficult people, and spurring return business.

Conflict Resolution: Wherever two or more people come together, conflict may arise. This course will explore various methods to resolve conflict disputes of any size. Your participants will also gain skills in solution building and finding common ground.

Creating Healthy Work Cultures: Everybody aspires to be valued for their work and treated with respect. Company culture is best defined as “the way things get done around here.” Culture is created by both deliberate choices and unintended signals.
